With the longboard, you may do cruising, carving, sliding, and even some tricks, you just have to know what kind of a board to choose. While people usually want various things from their boards, the manufacturers have come up with custom longboards, which are made specifically for a particular customer and are tailored to meet the needs of the particular rider.
Well, this is clearly an advantage, if the rider knows what he wants. However, if you are a beginner, we suggest you to choose a pre-assembled longboard, which is ready for use immediately after purchase. Buying a pre-assembled board does not mean you are buying a bad deck, it just means that you are getting the board to learn whatever you want.
Custom longboards are cool. This type of board is designed personally for a specific customer to fit his riding style and taste. Many manufacturers offer custom longboards. However, some brands provide a possibility to choose only some specific features, like graphics or wheels, but other will offer full customization.
If you are an experienced rider, eventually you will be ready to order a longboard of your dream though customization procedure. Although such board may be more expensive, it will be exactly what you expect. If you don’t have enough experience and are not really sure of what type of longboarding you want to do, it is better to stick to something more basic and versatile, like a pre-assembled board.
